Jiu Jitsu has been one of the most challenging and most rewarding things that I’ve ever done. One special moment for me was the first time I did a pro grappling match. I was competing against a much bigger and stronger opponent, and I was definitely a little nervous to go out there and compete in front of all my teammates, friends, and family. I waited anxiously backstage until it was finally my time to go out there and compete.
I was able to secure a choke and get the win, which was an amazing moment for me. It showed that months of hard work and preparation had paid off, and reminded me that technique is always greater than strength. Throughout the journey, Jiu jitsu has taught me many principles that I have been able to apply to my everyday life.
