When did you start teaching at Elite MMA? I started teaching around 2006 with cardio kickboxing and later transitioned to BJJ and MMA.
What is a memorable moment for you at Elite MMA? There is a lot, but I just appreciate times I have with the coaches and teammates that support my training, whether it’s either for competitive tournaments, fights, or just training. I always look back at what I’ve been through in the gym and can say that there are not many people out there that can do what I have been through whether it's physically or mentally. I enjoy every moment during and after my workouts.
In your own words why do you enjoy Elite MMA? It’s the camaraderie. We have great people whether it's the students or coaches. We have people that provide a positive atmosphere and with no egos. It’s great to have a place that promotes growth within and outside the gym. I have met some of my best friends inside the gym and they have been a great support in my life and as I will to theirs.
Do you have any martial arts accomplishments that you are proud of and why? I have won and competed in numerous tournaments but I have to say it’s the training that I have been through for competition that makes me most proud. I see the amount of training pro athletes have been through and to be able to do the same type of workouts they do, makes me feel good. I have really been through serious workouts where I threw up but I kept pushing it further physically and it helped made me stronger mentally as well. Doing so made me realize that I can compete and be at that level with any athlete.
Are there any professional accomplishments that you are proud of and why? Graduating college and working on a professional career.
Any sports/activities that you participated in that you are proud of? Played basketball in high school and competed in some video game tournaments.
What hobbies do you enjoy and why? Well outside the gym I like to watch movies and hangout with friends. I also play video games and watch anime. I also like karaoke.
Any memorable family moments that you would like to share? Most of the time it’s during the holidays when my family are all together. We are so busy that its hard for all of us to be together at one place so during the holidays has its moments.
